I'm No 'Wacko'
Shin was charged in November with threatening to kill his 76-year-old mother. Although his parents had a restraining order, the police found him at their house hiding in the closet.
Earlier this week, Newsom sought a restraining order, as his long-time supporter after Shin talked his way into Newsom's apartment building. Once inside, according to court records, he presented the doorman with pictures of himself with Newsom, and another of Newsom standing next to an Asian man wearing only a diaper, and asked if Newsom was home.
Shin showed up regularly at Newsom appearances and recently began displaying "bizarre" behavior towards the Gav. Earlier this month, a police officer had to physically separate the two men after Shin, wearing purple latex gloves, reportedly grabbed Newsom. It's also been reported that he attempted to flirt with the Gav.
Obsession? Purple Latex gloves? What's next?

BAD HAI(RED)
Gavin Newsom's running out of hair product at a party put on by the Gap and running out of political capital with each underage party girl. His shirt should read:
JUST FI(RED)
Rumor has it that Gav's 20-year old girlfirend, Brittanie Mountz, influenced the new doo. I've got nothing against dating girls half my age and would gladly wear braids too keep my young restaurant hostess with the most(est) happy, but then again... I'm not a Mayor with Presidential ambitions - WTF?! A Bad Hair Day is one thing and the Mayor drinking with a girl who was below the legal drinking age is just dumb.

Mayor McChicken
For those of you that missed it, the above photo of Mayor Gavin Newsom and chicken foe was featured on the front page of the San Francisco Chronicle. The backstory is that San Francisco voters passed a non-binding resolution that asks the mayor to appear before the board of supervisors once a month for question time, inspired by British Prime Minister question time, the

Mayor's Aide Admits to Dirty Tricks
San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's chief spokesman Peter Ragone admitted Wednesday to posting comments on local news-oriented Web sites using the identity of other people.
Ragone had denied using fake names to defend Newsom in online discussions at SFist and other Web sites, insisting the comments were those of the named author, John Nelson, a close personal friend.
The admission came the same day Newsom was confronting a political crisis over revelations he had an affair with an aide who is married to his campaign manager. Suspicion began to center on the blog postings last week after SFist identified the Internet Protocol address for a home computer that Ragone had been using to make comments under his own name.
Editors at the Web site checked to ensure that somebody wasn't impersonating Ragone -- but soon discovered similar comments had been posted from the same home computer but under other names and sometimes early in the morning before 8 a.m.
Other pro-Newsom blog posts made from Ragone's computer were signed by his wife and someone using the name Byorn. Peter Ragone said he didn't recall using the name Byorn.
"If it's from my (computer) IP (address), it must be me."Newsom's political opponents have equated Ragone's actions with Nixonian political dirty tricks and called for his dismissal.

Gavin Gives Real Alcoholics A Bad Name!
Gavin Newsom joins Patrick Kennedy and Mark Foley in the most predictable and conniving political move of his wacky career, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom told department heads at City Hall that he is seeking counseling for alcohol abuse.
Why is it that every time a politician gets in trouble, he or she immediately pleads alcoholism and/or drug dependency, prays to God and family for forgiveness, and demands to be coddled like a helpless victim for years to come?
In somewhat of a surprise, Newsom has not entered rehabilitation. In fact, His Honor claims that he does not need to take any time off from his official duties. Of course, it's the after hour, non-official duties that got Da Mayor into hot water in the first place.
By the way, when was the last time that a person really smitten by alcohol abuse was able to avoid taking at least some time off?
Perhaps Newsom is just building a "Jack Daniel's made me do it!" case for his reelection portfolio? You know, convince voters that you are the victim of a medical condition, one so severe that you were driven against your better judgment and moral standards into the amorous clutches of your campaign manager's wife.
Such a strategy requires Newsom to convince voters that he is a "powerless" wimp who would have acted properly if alcohol had not been rammed down his lustful throat. But why would sophisticated voters in a major American city reelect a powerless wimp who has an addiction to booze and wild women?
The truth: Despite all the braggadocio, there are precious few sophisticated voters in San Francisco and, politicians like Gavin Newsom, Patrick Kennedy, and Mark Foley give real alcoholics a bad name!

I Love Your Wife
Basically, I like boozing, schmoozing losers winning (and womanizing) as much as the next guy. But, when I’m not watching nighttime dramas, I’m busy watching my city’s homelessness and violence grow – two issues that Gavin campaigned upon and have steadily worsened since his ascendance. I’m indifferent to Gavin’s ‘poor personal decisions.’ Rather, I’m concerned how his ‘poor decisions period’ affects us all. This is why I am moved to post. I’m not political and don’t claim to have any answers. I only know I don’t want to see Gavin win another election.

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's new squeeze, Brittanie Mountz, just turned 20 last month -- and that raises a couple of questions about the couple's nights on the to win.
At the time, Mountz had a MySpace page that said she was 19. It now says she's 26. But according to the Sonoma County registrar of voters, the Rohnert Park resident turned 20 on Sept. 17 -- three weeks and two days before Newsom turned 39.

Gavin and His Guys
Gavin Newsom's womanizing is well documented, but he's not doing any better with men in his life. Gavin Newsom's run in with Alex Tourk who resigned this month as his Campaign Manager marks his second very public break with a very close male friend.
The then San Francisco Supervisor, Gavin Newsom split-up with his society pal, Billy Getty, heir to the Getty oil fortune. Things went south after Billy's new wife, Vanessa, started questioning some of Billy and Gavin's joint financial dealings. And, the fact that the younger Getty once dated Newsom's (then) girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle (now) Newsom's ex-wife.
Kimberly just moved here from Los Angeles to take a job as a deputy in the San Francisco district attorney's office. Apparently, Vanessa and cohorts inside the D.A.'s office tried to sabotage the hiring.

Gavin Newsom Jokes
"Big sex scandal going on in San Francisco. Mayor Gavin Newsom's re-election campaign manager resigned after he found out the mayor was having an affair with his wife. Anytime a guy has an affair with a woman in San Francisco, that is a huge story" --Jay Leno
"The Mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom, has apologized for having an affair with the wife of his campaign manager. To be fair, he's not the first guy in San Francisco to have sex behind someone's back. ... He also stated this will not stop him from seeking re-election. Good luck trying to find another campaign manager." --Jay Leno
"The mayor of San Francisco Gavin Newsom, who had sex with the wife of his campaign manager, he announced he's going into alcohol rehab. How insulting is that for the campaign manager? Not only did he have sex with your wife but he had to be drunk to do it." --Jay Leno
"The mayor announced he will enter rehab for alcohol abuse. ... I think the only reason this guy's going into rehab is to meet Lindsay Lohan." --Jay Leno

Bruzzone Asks Gavin Newsom Not To Seek Second Term
Newsom's Only Competition Is LA Mayor?
Until now, Newsom, with approval ratings around 70 percent, had been considered a shoo-in for re-election in November. And despite controversy over his move three years ago to legalize gay marriage, Newsom, 39, was still considered one of the country’s hottest mayors and a rising star in the Democratic Party.
For now, Newsom has no credible opponent for his re-election bid, even though several city supervisors were reportedly licking their chops at the prospect of Newsom’s downfall. The bigger problem may come down the road, when Newsom is expected to square off against Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, another young Democratic star—for either the U.S. Senate seat held by Diane Feinstein, now 73, or for governor, when Arnold Schwarzenegger’s term expires in 2010.

Newsom Fumbles 49ers?
"Whether it's fair or not, the mayor is ultimately going to be blamed for losing
the 49ers," said Supervisor Gerardo Sandoval, who has had his own rocky
relationship with the team and Newsom. "Twenty years from now, people may not
remember exactly when the team left, but they are going to say, 'I think it was
when Newsom was mayor.' "
Looking for a Few Good Candidates
Jack Davis, a political consultant who helped elect Willy Brown and former Mayor Frank Jordan and was looking for someone to challenge Gavin Newsom, said:
"There is nothing new in that story that I haven't been aware of for the last six months. Now that it's public and out there, Gavin ought to resign and seek psychiatric help."
An excerpt from AIDE QUITS AS NEWSOM'S AFFAIR WITH HIS WIFE IS REVEALED by Matier & Ross, San Francisco Chronicle, Thursday, February 1, 2007
Davis, who was a consultant to Newsom's 2003 campaign, is convinced that the mayor isn't anywhere near as strong as his numbers suggest. He figures Newsom's seeming quest for higher office -- while the city's crime and homelessness problems fester -- make him a ripe for a challenge.
"Gavin is all flash and sound bites, and the city is in worse condition than it's ever been in,'' Davis said. "In fact, I think the city was in better shape when Frank Jordan was mayor -- and that's saying something."An excerpt from S.F.'s top dogs passing the hat at ballot box by Matier & Ross, San Francisco Chronicle, Monday, September 25, 2006

The Peter Principle
How has Mayor Gavin Newsom reacted to his press secretary being exposed as a liar who then accuses Newsom of being a liar? By promoting him to the newly created "director of communications and planning." Amazing. Simply amazing.
